The BasBlue Foundation will raise a total of $2 million to support female and nonbinary entrepreneurs in Detroit.
The foundation has already launched two fellowship programs for business owners to receive access to capital and business incubation. The goal is to raise a total of $2 million by the end of the year. Up till now, BasBlue Foundation has managed to gather $600,000 thanks to partners such as the Total Health Care Foundation, The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, and The Remington Group, according to a news release.
The BasBlue Zero-to-One Fellowship
The BasBlue Zero-to-One Fellowship will assist entrepreneurs for a year by providing participants with capital access at an early stage, coaching and mentorship help, as well as financial and legal planning. At the end of the fellowship, entrepreneurs will also be given access to a small business grant. Applications are currently open.
The BasBlue Foundation
BasBlue Foundation was started in October 2021 to connect women and nonbinary business owners in the area of Detroit. This organization provides financial help to the most innovative entrepreneurs and will soon reach 700 members. “It was part of our strategic priorities over time (..) to support women by providing capital for entrepreneurship, from the ideation phase all the way through the development and creating pitches,” said Miah Davis, BasBlue manager.
